Sending mail via SMTP uses port 25 by default.
Please keep in mind that some ISPs do not allow their users to send mail
using another network's SMTP server. For example SBC/ATT DSL customers
cannot send mail by default unless their outgoing server is
smtp.sbcglobal.net (though they can contact the provider and have this
filtering turned off).
If you are unable to connect to your mail provider's outgoing mail server to
send mail--and your mail provider is NOT your internet provider--contact
your internet provider to determine what settings, if any, you need to set
in order to be able to do so.
Please also note: The SMTP server you use to send your mail does NOT affect
your email address or who it says the email is "from". For example if your
Outlook is set up with your SKY email address, that's who it will say the
mail is coming from, regardless of whether it is sent using SKY's server,
SBC's server, Comcast's server, etc.
