I currently have done a list of members to excel and need to covert it to an
ASCII fixed-field text file, also sometimes known as an IBM-type text file.
Could someone please help.

1) Highlight the entire worksheet by left-clicking on the box in the upper
left-hand corner of the worksheet. It is at the intersection of the columns
and rows heading. 'A' is immediately to the right of the box and '1' is
immediately below it.
2) Select 'Courier' as the font
3) Select FILE
4) Select SAVE AS
5) Change the SAVE AS TYPE to 'Formatted Text (Space delimited) (*.prn)
6) Select SAVE
7) Select OK
8) Select YES

Another option, download the file below, copy the sheet with your data into
that workbook, define the columns and field widths for your data and create
an ascii file using it. Not limited to '.prn' type, so no file renaming
needed.

This version pads 'short' fields with leading spaces.
