How do you run 98 games on XP

's Computer Specifications

I used to have windows 98 PC and have now bought an XP
machine. I expected CD's from 98 to work on XP but NO!
Games, encyclopedias, even scanner software refuses to
load. Is there a way of making XP able to install / run
these programs ?
