Did you get a "System Recovery" CD, or set of CDs, with your new
computer? If so, put the CD (or CD #1 of the set) into the CDROM
drive and shut down and restart the computer.

The computer will boot from the System Recovery CD and you should then
be able to follow the prompts to get back to the "factory new" state.

WARNING #1: System Recovery CDs generally do a complete "slash and
burn" of your existing hard drive contents so all of your user data
files, including documents and emails, will be totally and permanently
wiped out by doing this.

WARNING #2: If your System Recover CD does not have the Service Pack 1
updates for Windows XP incorporated into it then your computer will be
wide open to infestation by the Blaster virus and similar. It is
absolutely imperative that you activate the internal Windows XP
firewall before you connect the computer to the Internet.

Good luck

Look at your computer manual. It will tell you how!

Did you receive a manual with your pc at the time of purchase?.. if the
answer is 'yes', now would be a good time to read it.. if the answer is
'no', go back to where the pc was purchased and ask them.. each
manufacturer, other than clone pc producers, have their own cute way of
restoring to 'as bought'..
