I'm trying to use a Navajo language font, but the auto replace feature
does'nt recognize it, so the charactors are changed. The program says to
turn off tthe auto replace feature.

In Word 2003 or earlier, go to Tools > AutoCorrect Options >
AutoCorrect and uncheck "Replace text as you type".

In Word 2007, the same dialog is at Office button > Word Options >
Proofing > AutoCorrect Options.
