When you type an email address into the "to:" field, Microsoft Outlook
automatically saves that address so that you can auto fill later on by
begining to spell the email address. As you type, Outlook begins to
reference similiar email address that you have typed in before.

But what if I don't want a once only used email address stored on my
computer? How do I clear / delete the cache' so that the email address does
not automatically pop up as I type similar letters in the "to:" box?

When you're typing in the box and you see an address you don't want in the
cache, arrow down to it and hit the delete key. That'll remove it.

Oh, and if you want to disable the feature *completely*:
Tools - Options - E-mail Options - Advanced E-Mail Options - uncheck
"Suggest names while completing the To, Cc and Bcc fields"
