How do I text via email to a mobile?

Outlook 2002: I understand it is possible to text via email to a mobile phone
but how is this achieved?

From what I have seen, you just put in the phone number
612-123-(E-Mail Removed) or something like that. It will email to the device.

By "text" I presume you mean "sms"

AFAIK there is no native support for this, you would need an email-to-sms
gateway - which would also involve you in some additional costs per message.
Unless of course you are just sending an email and the phone owner had an
email-to-sms service or was just retrieving their email via their phone.

from what I have read, outlook 2007 does have sms capability, but only with
certain providers, and you can get plug-ins for older versions.

You can download a freeware, VisualGSM Lite, from this website -
http://www.visualtron.com. Works with most non-PDA mobile phones.
