How do I stop the CONSTANT Critical Update e-mail notices

Well that says it all. I somehow checked a box somewhere
during installation that said 'YES' to do you want to
receive e-mail notices of critical updates. Now I get 6 a
day. Help someone!!!

Be careful as there is a hacker sending bogus notices purporting to be from
Microsoft about critical updates. They contain alleged patches that are just
a virus.

All of the true patches are downloads, not attachments.
