I m able ro receive e-mail from my POP3 account into Outlook 2007 - no
problem. However, when I sent some out they we faile because "McAfee scan
failed". then I set the port to 465 and now the send function times out
because the smtp server takes too long... What I am doing wrong?

Which version of Outlook?

The first thing that's wrong is that you're scanning outgoing mail. It's a
waste of time. Disable the mail scanner in McAfee.
