How do I set text = lower case always ON, when composing?

hello,
when composing a new message (or even when replying) and using Word2003 as
the default editor, how do i set the lower case to always be on, and yet
still be able to use the shift key to apply upper case? i have already
configured my font formatting under options, and that works for the most
part, but i still generally wind up just selecting the entire message body
and then formatting, especially for lower case.
