I have an event which takes place on a regular basis, but is not recuring on
the same day each week. I was able to schedule this in "groupwise" and I am
looking for a similar feature with outlook.

what exactly is that reccurrence pattern you want to setup?

Outlook does not provide a native method for doing this - however an enterprising third party has done so - see WS RepeatAppointments for their add-in.
