Let's say you want to have a portrait page, followed by a landscape page,
followed by another portrait page. At the bottom of your first (portrait)
page, click "Insert", "Break", "Section Break Type - Next Page". It will
insert not only a page break, but also creates a new section. On your new
second page, click "File", "Page Setup", change your orientation to
"Landscape", make sure the "Apply to" dropdown says "This section". Repeat
this to create your next portrait page.

One thing you can also notice is at the bottom left side of your Word screen
you should see the page number, number of pages, line and column location,
AND which Section you are in. This is called the Status Bar. If it is not
visible, click "Tools", "Options", and on the "View" TAB, click it's check
box.

Holler back if this does not make sense!
