How do I set a field

I need to set a field so that it will only accept certain code letters ie SP
or AD or PP does anyone know how I do this please.

Create a Combo with this values, and set the Limit to list property of the
combo to Yes.

That will not only limit input to the desired codes, it lets users select
the code from a list which is a good thing to do for them.
