I had to install a new hard drive, but I was able to save the contents of the
old drive. I just copied the contents from the old drive at the root level.
My archive.pst file is outdated, so I can't restore from it. After I install
Outlook on the new drive, can I copy files from the old installation to the
new one to restore my contacts, email, calendar, and everything else? Is
there a particular procedure? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Normally one would reconnect the same data file you were using before.
That's the only way to retain all your data.
You did not specify your Outlook version, so extrapolate from this:

Thanks for the reply. I'm using Outlook 2000, and I looked at the first part
of the article that you suggested. I did a search, and turned up two pst
files, and archive.pst and a contacts.pst. The date last modified for the
contacts.pst file was last week, so I can restore my contacts from that file.
But there was no Outlook.pst file, so Outlook 2000 must be structured
differently in terms of where is it stores the data for calendar entries,
emails, tasks, etc. Can you point me in the right direction or to the right
article in the knowledge base to get that data back. Thanks again!

No. I can't tell you where your PST file was or what it was named. That
would depend on your operating system and how you had Outlook configured.
Only you know that. Read this for some likely locations, although a search
should certainly have turned it up:
