Hi all,

I recently upgraded to Windows XP Pro from Home, and a few things wen
wrong (that will teach me for using a copy given by the Uni), anyway,
want to restore back, I dont have any restore disk whatsoever.

Does anybody know if I can do this without a restore disk, and if I d
need a restore disk, which one do I need, Pro or Home?

I would be ever so greatful if someone could help, I feel s
blonde...or what do you know!

Thanks

Angelina Jaycob

You can't restore without a Windows XP CD. It is impossible to say which
version you had installed on your pc so you really need to speak to your Uni
IT department and ask them which copy of XP they supplied you with.

Once you upgrade from Windows XP Home Edition to
Windows XP Professional, you cannot revert back to
XP Home without reformatting the drive.. I would suggest
you acquire a "Full Version" of Windows XP Professional
and perform a "Clean Install".

As others have said, it will difficult if not impossible to revert
back to your previous version of Windows.

It may be quicker and simpler to solve whatever problems you are
encountering with Windows XP Pro.

The only differences between Home and Pro are certain features and
functions that are unique to Pro and which would have been added to
your system as part of the upgrade.

So if you can give us some specific examples of the things that went
wrong it may be possible to help you to sort these out.

Good luck
