Somehow the word "file" for menu item no longer appears. The menu line
starts with "edit". I can no longer click file and get a drop down for
options such as print, print setup, etc

You Rock!!!!!! I'm working on a novel and my paranoia was creeping to a
new level. Thought I had a virus, ghost, etc.
But you fixed it!!! Who knows, if I get this thing published, I may put in
an acknowledgement
