ELCL, I was wrong in my answer to your problem. Here is how to restore the
send and receive progress screen in Outlook 2003.
Open Outlook and click on the drop down arrow beside SEND AND RECEIVE.
Place your curser on Send and Receive Settings and the options will shoot
which will allow your to select Show Progress.
This will restore the progress window when you send/receive a message like
you previously had.
