Is this what you want? Double click the series, click on the Options
tab, and change the Gap Width setting.

That helped, but I did not phrase my question correctly the first time.
Following what you said, I was able to increase the width of the bars in the
bar graph, but it also decreased the gap between each bar. I want to keep the
gap the same while at the same time increasing the width of each bar in the
bar graph.

Hi Rita -

It's a zero sum game. The only way to increase one without decreasing
the other is to increase the sum, that is, make the entire chart wider.

Jon, is there any way to make the width of the bars vary one from another? I
have 10 items whose perfomance I measure performance and I plot their
performance indices. I'd like the one that is the biggest dollar-wise to
have the widest bar. As you indicated below, I can make them all wider or
narrower, and vary the gap between them, but haven't been able to figure out
how to make them different widths. Thanks for any help! Nora

Hi,

Jon has an explanation here,
http://pubs.logicalexpressions.com/P...cle.asp?ID=508

Stephen Bullen has a example (FunChrt5),
http://www.oaltd.co.uk/Excel/SBXLPage.asp#Charting

I have a couple of examples here,

Cheers
Andy
