Strange things happening. mode - it's just white. Not sure what I did.
Formatting shows the color I want and the color shows up in preview mode. Is
there a way to get it to show in design mode?

Second, when I do see the color in preview mode, it is a lot bright than it
was an not even near the shade I want it to be. Is there a way to get back to
a default? I'm thinking it probably has to do with brightness and contrast
controls.

Thanks.
Charlie

Defaults for what??
Color of what??
What FrontPage version??
What OS??

FrontPage doesn't mess with monitor settings.

I wasn't talking about monitor settings, I'm talking about the brightness and
contrast controls on the tool bar. Please see my new post under this topic
with details I have just discovered.

First, sorry, it appears I accidentally removed some words in my original
post. I've done some further messing around and here is what I've discovered.

I'm using Front Page 2003 on P.C. It appears I have found what has caused
the problem. I was working with the contrast control on the tool bar and it
looks like when you lower the contrast as far as it will go, it turns the
background completely white. This not only applies to the page you are
working on but to all pages you are working on in the program. I tried
several things to try to reverse the action; Control Z, raising the contrast
back to where it was, restarting the program and my P.C., and tried to start
building a new web page. None of these corrected the problem. I also have the
program on a laptop and was able to reproduce the problem there as well.

An important note to mention is that this seems to only apply to using a
picture as a background. I was using a solid color gif, which is set in the
Format/Background dialogue box. If I choose one of the default colors from
the drop down menu they appear to show up fine.

Any ideas or suggestions before I uninstall/reinstall?
Charlie

Go here: http://www.95isalive.com/fixes/fpclean.htm and download FP Cleaner.
Run the functions that clear the FrontPage temporary files, the Cache(.web)
files and also the one that restores the default Toolbars and Menus.

Let us know the results.
