How do I repin a Start Menu shortcut back to my XP's Start Menu?

Hello,

I accidently removed a shortcut item from Windows XP's Start Menu list.
I added it back, but it is on the very top and not as one of the most
frequently used/run programs. How can I "repin" it back to the Start Menu?

I tried the instructions on
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/u...startmenu.mspx
but I don't have the pin option. I also tried
http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/regs...listenable.reg but that
didn't show it either.

And yes, I am not even using Classic Start Menu.

Thank you in advance.

You have to unpin it then use it enough to get it promoted up the list.

The frequently used list is a computer generated list. You can't drag and
drop shortcuts into it, as you can to the top "pinned" portion of the start
menu, if that is what you are trying to do.

Hmm, is there a way to cheat in the registry? I assume there is a
counter value for this.

Ahh, I thought Windows XP would still remember the frequency value
unless I told it to clear it. Oh well. Back to zero I guess!

It is designed to prevent software developers putting themselves there.
