How do I rename my hard disk from C: to E: ?

Does anyone know how to rename the hard drive on my XP
Professional system from C: to E:? I have tried from the
command prompt and get a message saying it does not
recognise the drive.

Right click on My Computer. Click on Manage. If 'Storage'
has a + sign, click it and click on Disk Management. You
should get a graphic display of your PC's drives. Right
click on drive C and select 'Change Drive Letter and
Paths'. Click and then click 'change' and the rest should
be obvious.

Why do you want to do this though?

You can't change the letter of the drive windows is installed on without
reinstalling it and choosing the proper drive to install it to.
