I am unable to repair my file using the Inbox Repair Tool. Using Outlook
2007, file size is 3.5GB. I have tried the file reduction tool without
success and have also heard that 2007 doesn't have this restriction. I have
also tried to run outlook.exe/safe but this doesn't seem to exist.

Suggestions?

any help would be greatly appreciated this is extremely important data that
will take days to rebuild.

Correct. What makes you think your pst file is corrupted?

Unless you made a typo in your post, there should be a space between "exe"
and "/" in your command...

I believe it is corrupted because when I try to open it an error message
tells me that there are errors detected and to use the Inbox Repair tool.
I didn't know about the space for running safe and so that works. I have
created a new pst file to work from and then while in safe mode I am still
unable to open the older file.

So what happens when you try the Inbox repair tool?

And why have you started a new thread?, when we were all waiting for you to
reply to the responses in that thread

If outlook is functioning OK with a new pst, then maybe you need to run your
HD mnftr's bootable disk checking utility.

It ends up saying no changes were made to the file.

Sorry, I thought I had replied to your response and then didn't hear from
you. I apologize if i have violated etiquette here.

The fact that I can run a different pst tells me that outlook is working
fine and further confirms to me that the original pst is corrupted. What
would a disc checking utility do for me?

Its not so much etiquette, as waiting for a response to a post today

It tells you if you had bad sectors in your hd, thus causing corrupt files

I'm seeing some software products that claim to be able to recover lost data.
Do you have any thoughts on this?

Havent had to use any myself, there are a number of third party pst recovery
/ repair utilities, generally I believe the decent ones have a try before
you buy
http://www.repair-outlook-pst.com/pst-recovery.php
