Our customer service department would like word to record the conversation
with the customer to make sure everything is recorded accurately - Our
company is a Class 3 FDA certified medical device company and it beats long
hand. We are using the CISCO IP phone hooked up thru the pc.

You would have to use some kind of speech-to-text functionality. You could
try to set up a system using the Windows built-in functionality
(http://www.ehow.com/how_5892740_spee...fice-2007.html) or you could
look for a more professional solution as offered by companies like
Dictaphone (now Nuance, http://www.nuance.com/healthcare/). There are
probably other companies offering similar systems, it's just the only one I
ever used.

Note that recording phone calls without the explicit permission of all the
involved parties is probably illegal in most countries.

Different states of the US have different requirements -- some need
permission from both parties, others need permission only from one of
the parties.
