My son managed to get it working- in that I can go to arXiv and read pdf
postings, but it still won't open this e-mail attachment. Maybe that file is
screwed up. I'll try copying it to disc, thanks. I don't know what the
preview pane is. To the left I have a list of received emails. In the middle
I have the clicked email displayed and in the titles there are the
attachments. When I click there it won't open. Windows xp had a worse
problem. No attachments on any forwarded mail would open. The perfectly
obvious solution was to forward the forword and in the forward to be sent one
could open the attachments!!! Don't ask me how long it took to discover the
undo button.
