Is there a similar way to number slides in a presentation as in Word's Page X
of Y autotext instaed of having to put the toatl in manually?

Alternately, you can try this out:
Click Insert > Slide Number.

Put a checkmark on the slide number. Apply to all.
Now, you will see only XX (without total number).

Click View > Master > Slide Master.
There is a Number Area textbox at the bottom right corner. Right click on
it, and click edit text. Then, add "of YY" (depends on the total number of
your slides, you will have to do this manually. So if you add a new slide,
you will have to edit again.) Now, close the Master View.
