How do i prevent buffer under runs

Hopw do i prevent buffer under runs on a CDRW drive when the drive has no buffer under run protection feature

Make sure that the CDRW is in DMA mode and not PIO. Set it by itself
as Master on the Seconday IDE channel. And your Hard Drive as Master on the
Primary IDE channel. Use name brand CDR's such as
Maxwell, Fuji, Sony, Tdk. Burn at a low speed. If the drive can burn
at 16x try at 8x. Have no other programs running in the background when
you do the burn.

Turn off screen savers Esp 3d ones.

Also, look for an option listed as BurnProof or Buffer Under Run
Protection. These are common features included with more recent CD/DVD
Burners. If this is a really old drive, you may just want to get a new
drive as they aren't very expensive at all. Also, installing updates
for your software burning program is going to help too as well as not
running any other applications while you are writing to CD's.
