How do I populate the "allowed Items" list

I (like a loot of other people who have posted here) have a specific
application that downloads regular updates and WDB2 requires every "change"
to be allowed. Engel has replied to most of these posts telling the member to
exclude the software from being scanned under advanced options. I've already
done that, but this application updates it's "run" item with every download.
I would like to add it to the allowed items list, but there seems to be no
way of making that entry.
Does anyone have any idea how to go about populating the allowed list? I
was hoping there would be a direct link from the software explorer ... or at
least a hidden add or browse button but No Joy. I'd be more than happy to
directly edit the registry for defender to populate the list ... but that
would be an obvious malware exploit so I'm not holding my breath. Thanks

'Always allow' is apparently not yet implemented.
If adding the exact path and file name to the exclude box does not work,
then I don't think there is much that can be done with this beta. Presumably
a later version will see 'always allow' implemented.

Does anyone know if this has been updated yet?

It seems slightly off that you can not add programs into the allowed list by
using "Always Allow" which it directs you to use in the actual program help
files.

When you have programs like Evenbalances' Punkbuster continuously updating
its own runtime and process id, it would be useful to allow the changes
automatically.

I'm suprised 2 years down the line this remains the same situation.
