How do I plot Mean Average Deviation -the AVEDEV funcation - as opposed to
standard deviation?

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Graeme

Graeme -

AVEDEV, i.e., the average of absolute deviations from the mean, is a
single-number summary measure of dispersion.

Usually, I do not "plot" such a number. What kind of plot are you
developing?

Regarding standard deviation (stdev), on a histogram (column chart of the
frequency distribution of a set of data), one might plot vertical lines for
"mean minus two stdev" and "mean plus two stdev" to show a 95% range. See
Jon Peltier's methods at http://peltiertech.com/Excel/Charts/AddLine.html
