I was able to back up my computer before it crashed. I had a personal folder
that I cannot find and I need the emails. I did find a .pst file but I
cannot open it. Please help.

how large was the pst? What is the date stamp on it? That is where the
messages and other data are stored.

What means "cannot"; what happens if you try? How do you open it, b.t.w?

Was Outlook closed when you ran the backup?

What's your Outlook version?

Do you get any errors when you try to open it and also how are you trying to
open it, you may need to use PST repair if it is corrupted.

I just realized that what I thought was a Personal Folder was actually a
folder that I created in my MAILBOX (where drafts, junk mail and my inbox
reside). When I created a TEST personal folder in the actual PERSONAL
FOLDERS subset I found my test folder in my C: drive. So my question should
be "can you retrieve folders from your Mailbox if you have backed up your
computer?" Thanks in advance!
