Attached to my system I have an HP DeskJet 820Cse which
has installed and worked fine in the past. A couple of
weeks ago I had occasion to uninstall it. I am now
trying to install it. At the end of the Add Printer
wizard I get "Unable to Install Printer. Some files are
missing or incorrect. Reinstall the driver or trying
using the latest version" I have cycled through many
attempts to do this working with directions from the HP
support web site and Microsoft. There are no updated
drivers. The required driver is built into the operation
system. Therefore I need to be able to restore this
WindowsXP system driver without wiping out my drive as
your recovery CD seems to want to do. Under normal
circumstances such a task has never been a problem but
the locked recovery cd (Provided by SI) is making this a
MAJOR MAJOR Problem. The computer manufacture is
refussing help saying the locking of the Recovery CD is
per the requirements of Microsoft. The printer is
currently unusable on this system as either a local
printer or a network printer. I NEED TO HAVE THIS
RESOLVED.
