How Do I open up an attachement that is a word document that was created and
mailed to me by someone using Windows Vista? I currently am using windows
2003 and do not want to download a free trial.

well you WILL have to download something - whether it is the free Word
Viewer (which AFAIK only allows you to do just that), or perhaps open
Office, which is free and will allow you to edit and save Word Documents.

Vista is irrelevant...I'm sure you mean Office 2007 and Office 2003. To open
a document saved in the new 2007 format you need to download and install
this utillity:

The alternative is to ask the person/people to send you documents saved in
2003 format.

If the Word attachment is a .docx file, then you'll need a Word 2007 reader
or, better, in my opinion, the Office 2007 Compatibility Pack, which will
allow Office 1000, XP, and 2003 to create Word 2007 documents, and the Word,
Excel, and Powerpoint viewers 2003 to show you those documents. See
