MyBook.xls is open, in one window. Then:
Window> NewWindow (pre-2007 menu command. No idea what the ribbon
equivalent is)
You now have 2 windows that can be arranged:
MyBook.xls
MyBook.xls:2
(Once a 2nd window is open, the "Window>CompareSideBySideWith..." command
becomes available, which allows you to synchronize scrolling between
windows.)
Keep in mind that you still have the same number of file(s) open, you are
only increasing the number of windows available to view those files.
