You can try requesting a Delivery Receipt on the message. It's in options.
I'm not sure I'd check the box to make it default, since you'd get *alot* of
notifications, but if you do, just go to Tools - Options - Preferences -
E-mail Options - Tracking Options and check the box. Unfortunately, you
can't really guarantee that a machine on the internet will actually send the
delivery receipt back.
