how do I make a hyperlink tht does not have an underline?

I saw this question answered in here, but I did not understand the
answer....can you be a bit more explanatory for this beginner?

The very simplest way would be to click in the link and then click on the
underline icon on the toolbar. This would affect THIS LINK ONLY on this
page only. When you do this, none of the link states will be underlined -
link, visited, hover, or active.

If you want to affect multiple links, and you want to have the link state
not underlined while the other states are, then you would have to adopt a
more systematic and advanced approach.

Does that help, and should I go on?
