How do I make followup flags appear as colored flags?

Hello! When I flag messages for followup, I don't see little colored flags.
No matter which flag I choose, all I see is a "Followup" column with the word
"Followup" by each message I have flagged. In other words, instead of the
little colored flags next to a message, I see the text "Followup". This is
nice but not very helpful in determining which to follow up on first!

I've tried to find the answer in the "Help" area but have had no luck. Any
ideas?
