How do I make the background of a text box "Clear"?

I have a map behind a list of VP's who belong to that area on the map. I used
Visio & got the outline of the text box & I could see the map behind the
outline & the names pf the VP's. Can I do that in Word?

Give the text box No Fill (on the Colors and Lines tab of Format Text Box).
