How do I lookup a record in another table on a access data page

Hi, I created a data access page through ms access. Before I can do a update
on the page, I first need to do a search for a specific record on another
table. I need to have coding to open/access the table and to search for the
specific value in a field.

Can you pls help me solve this problem, if you need any further info or you
