Hi,

Recently I made use of the feature in Access that allowed me to secure a
database file. So far I have 3 users with defined permissions: tempadmin
(full-user, admin), application (full-user), and experimenter (read-only).
Once the database was secured I successfully logged in as either of the three
users and the permissions worked as defined.

Not certain what transpired since my last attempt, but now when I open the
database, it does not prompt for a userID, i.e. it assumed by default that I
have limited priveleges. How can I bring about this prompt?

Thank you for your help,

Polina M Vanyukov

Sounds as though you didn't follow all of the steps involved with applying
security and now you're joining to the database with a different workgroup
(MDW file).

Take a look at
http://support.microsoft.com/support...ent/secfaq.asp and see if
you can determine what you missed.
