Turn on your ruler (View/Rulers) and then hold down your CTRL button while
you drag the indent carats on the ruler. Those carets control the amount and
placement of the indents.
If you need a line break in text with the type of hanging indent you
describe, then use Shift+Enter. This creates what is known as a "soft
return," and it will allow your text to indent the way you wish, whereas a
"hard return" (Enter) will create a new "paragraph" beginning with a bullet.
