How do I know if the processor installed on the machine supports hyper
threading or not?

Look it up on Intels web sight or if your motherboards bios
supports it you should see a setting to enable it.

You can also open the machine and look for the Intel logo. It should have a
HT abbreviation if it does.

If your BIOS supports hyperthreading and the setting for it is active
then open Task Manager (Ctrl+Alt+Delete) and go to the Performance
tab.

If your CPU supports hyperthreading there will be two CPU Usage and
CPU Usage History items shown there.

thanks
I already use the 2 CPU thing, but wanted something accurate as we already
have some dual machines here

Just a note, if you have Dual CPU's that are both HT, you should see 4
CPU's in XP (under Device Manager and Task Manager).
