Hi All,

I am still new in XPe and I and struggling with this. I've done a few
images, sometimes my image is working, sometimes it is not. Everything when
I do a dependency check, I will have some error to solve, and most of the
time it is due to the dependency. However, I always have problem in deciding
add in what component. I know I should add in the components that are
missing after the check, but I have no knowledge of the components so I
don't know what they do. Simple components like FAT is easy to know, but
others are relatively unknown to me. Anyone know how do I get familiar with
these components beside keep trial and error? I need a way to pick up this
skill real fast.

Thank you.

Regards,
Anson

Sorry Heidi I couldnt find my post and thought it was somehow deleted from
the server. Thanks for your advice and I am still waiting amazon to ship me
my book. You mentioned the serch in google groups archive, any suggestion on
how should I start the search? I don't think just typing a word component
will give me what i want... Thanks again.

Anson,

The latest help files
(http://www.microsoft.com/windows/emb...ds/default.asp) have a
description list for a majority of the components.

Well google's good for tracking down particular errors, but really what
you want to do first off is turn on auto-resolve dependencies, so it
adds everything it thinks it needs. Worry about trimming your image down
to the size you need *after* you have it working.
