In Outlook, after so many months, my appointments are automatically deleted.

For instance, I went back to look for something in July of '06, and all my
entries for
July of '06 and previous have been deleted. I would like to keep my
calendar for at least a couple of years. How do I do that?

Uncheck the option to autoarchive your old entries. Right click the calendar folder->Properties->Auto-Archive.

Post all replies to the group to keep the discussion intact. All
unsolicited mail sent to my personal account will be deleted without
reading.

After furious head scratching, NKM asked:

Find your archive.pst file, open it and then copy the items back to your calendar folder.
