How do I keep Inbox folder list at newest message?

I use Outlook 2007 with the Reading Pane at the bottom and with View/Arrange
By set for Date and Show in Groups. I keep my Inbox sorted with the newest
entries at the bottom of the list. My primary mail account is IMAP with a
secondary POP account.

When I switch to another Folder or View my Contacts and then return to the
Inbox Folder, the current item has been "forgotten" more often than not and
the current item has moved to somewhere near the top (but never the top) of
the Inbox items. I then have to scroll the Inbox list back down to the
bottom where it always remained in both Outllook 2003 and Vista Mail.

A secondary problem is that the vertical scroll in the Inbox list is not
reliable when grabbing the bar and dragging down. It works some of the
time, but sometimes "sticks" in place and I must click on the up/down arrows
to "reset" it and it will then work.

This occurs in both a Vista Ultimate and XP SP2 environment.

I understand the End key will "fix" the problem but I generally "drive" with
my mouse. I can right click the scroll bar and click End but this should
not be necessary.

This was not a problem with Outlook 2003.

I have opened an incidenet with MS but had no response since 3/8. Any
suggestions would be appreciated.
