How do I keep from having to enter Outlook password twice?

I set up Outlook to require a password. However, everytime I open Outlook I
have to enter the password twice before the program opens. Outlook on my
previous computer only required password entry once. How do I change this?

Depends on what's prompting for the password. There can be multiple
authentication realms when starting Outlook. Explain what you mean by "I set
up Outlook to require a password." Do you mean you put a password on the PST?

Again, when you install Outlook and set up accounts, yo're given the
opportunity to enter a password at several points and they're not all for the
same reason. You have to state WHICH password you set or in which dialogue
you entered it.

I'm having the exact same problem - this is the password when you first open
Outlook - I temporarily resolved it by going to File/Data File
Management/Settings/Change Password and removing it, but it doesn't resolve
the problem of someone being able to open my Outlook - would love for someone
to be able to solve the problem.

You cannot stop someone with physical access to your Windows account from
running any installed program because as far as the PC is concerned, they're
you. Password-protect your Windows account and lock the account with Windows
button-L when you step away.

I clearly understand that. How do you solve the problem of being prompted
twice for the password. You asked the person above which password - again I
call it the .pst password, but it would be the one where you go to File/Data
File Management/Settings/Change Password?

So with a single PST that's password protected, you get asked for that
password twice when you open Outlook? If that were to happen to me, I'd
probably create a new mail profile and see if it helped.

I do not mean to overstep the Outlook MVPs here but the solution is rather
simple and its related to having AVG installed. During the last update to 8.5
it causes some things to get tweaked. You need to simply uninstall AVG and
reinstall again clean with the 8.5 and you should be fine.

If I create a new profile - can I import the old data or are you thinking it
will just bring back the problem?
