Susan - In Office 2003, you do an Insert, Object, and choose Microsoft
Equation x.0, which opens the MS Equation Editor subprogram. You can find the
x-bar symbol (and a host of others) in there. If the Equation Editor does not
show as an option in Insert, Object, then you will need your Office program
disks to add that feature. (See Insert and Equation in MS Word Help for more
details.)
