I upgraded to Outlook 2003 but it didn't keep all my Outlook 2000 folders,
mail etc. How can I import all the old messages, folders to new 2003? I have
contacts because of Plaxo but need the sent,, deleted, current mail messages
too.

Hi Mollyo

it is not prefered to "Export" or "Import" the folders into Outlook.

The best way is to reconnect the old PST file (in addition to the new one)
and copy the folders/items from one PST file into the other.

How to reconnect the old PST file?

How to manage PST files in Outlook 2002 and 2003?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/287070/en-us

Maybe it helps.

Note that when moving from older versions to newer versions, reconnecting
old psts is not necessarily the best. See
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/ansi-to-unicode.asp for the methods you can
use when changing versions.

Hi Diane,

thank you for this information.

I understand her posting that she means "upgrate" but I think that she gets
a new profile.

She wrote:

If you upgrate from 2000 to 2003 normally the old profile with all PST files
are availabel, so I think, she gets a complete new 2003 profile with a new
unicode PST file as Personal Folder. Molly did not confirm this, but I am
nearly sure, that she did not make a real profile update to 2003.

With a new Outlook 2003 profile the method 2 is recommended:

I visited the slipstick site and found:

Manual method (2):
This method is slower and best suited for PSTs with fewer folders, although
it works pretty good if you have a large number of subfolders, since you can
move them in one group.
This is a good method to use if you are moving to an new computer as it
works best with a new profile.

OK, she did not move to a new computer but I wrote:

I think this is the method (2), but in the future I will post this slipstick
site.

I think this wil explain everybody the different methods and ways to
upgrate.

Great site! Thank you for this link.
