Error mssg "a device attached to it is not working" when "start" is clicked
on "Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Configuration" in Services. How do I
identify the device?

Look in Windows Logs and see if there are any messages there that will give
more information.

Hi clm_jr,

I would suggest you to go device manager ie

Right click on "My Computer" - select properties - select Hardware tab - select device manager

check if you can find any device with yellow triangle with Exclamation mark.
