I have just bought a new PC with WinXP SP2. It has an 80gb hard-drive (disk
1) which is currently all allocated to Drive C. I would like to split this
up into smaller, more manageable logical drives.

The Help tells me that I can create new logical drives only in "unallocated
space". I would be very grateful if someone would tell me where the Help
explains how the **** you get unallocated space!!!!

(Life was much simpler with Win98 and Partition Manager which simply asked
"Where would you like to take the space from?". So easy and user-friendly!!)

Pete

Hi Pete

You'll have to use a 3rd party partitioning program, such as Partition
Magic. However the version that worked with Win98 may not work with XP and
you will have to upgrade.

Partition Magic 7 and 8 both work on XP drives. Version 8 works in the
graphical display of XP.
