How do I get rid of the Stupit drop down menu on the shut down screen

      9th Aug 2004
I recently had to restore my computer to where it was a year ago. Up
until then I had three icons that you clicked to shutdown, restrat or
log off. Since then I get a very ugly drop down menu that I detest. I
am not sure if it was that way of if I did some sort of tweak to get
the icons to begin with. some one please help.
