How do I get rid of the "Delete Block? No (Yes)" setting?

When I hit the Delete key, instead of deleting I get a prompt that says
"Delete Block? No (Yes)". I suspect this a setting that can be toggled. If I
hit the Delete key, I would like the item to be deleted instead of triggering
this.

I am using Word 2003, SP3 running Windows XP. I've tried looking for the
setting in Tools>Options but I don't see anything that looks like it applies.
Can you give me a tip for dealing with this annoyance?

On the General tab of Tools | Options, clear the options referring to
WordPerfect.
